Good Gifts for Two (and a Half) Year Olds
Looking for an enriching, quality gift for a two and a half to three and a half year old? I've combed the catalogs and shops and selected what I think are gifts which are developmentally stimulating and fun for this age group. We would certainly be delighted for Vivienne to receive any of these items as gifts during the holiday season.
Dolls
Plush Waldorf-style dolls are warm and cuddly and encourage social play. Doll-house play provoke the imagination, inspiring storytelling and the building of homelife scenarios. No toy is better than dolls for helping develop relationship skills and empathy!
DVD's
Movies and most TV shows are too stressful, scary and violent for little children. But guess what! There are loads of well-made DVD's especially for this age group. Save the "life lessons" for older kids, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy simple stories of baby animals and children playing together, exploring nature, dancing, eating, getting dressed, etc.
Toys
Cooking toys, vehicle toys, puzzles, music toys and building toys all help the 2-3 year old exercise their growing understanding of the world around them.
